Research from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory found that people who ran 2.5 miles or more a day reduced their risks of developing cataracts and age-related macular degeneration. Vigorous exercise, say the experts, appears to curb the inflammation that contributes to both conditions.
