Have a Healthy Holiday
Throwing a holiday bash? Try serving these healthy holiday spirits.
Rudolf Red Mojito
1.5 ounces fresh pomegranate juice
1.5 ounces clear Bacardi rum
12 fresh mint leaves
Juice from 1/2 fresh lime
2 slices of lime wedge
7 ounces Sprite Zero or club soda
2 tablespoons Splenda
In a cool tall glass, muddle the mint, Splenda and lime juice. Add crushed ice. Add rum, pomegranate juice and soda. Stir well. Garnish with a lime wedge and a few sprigs of mint. Serve and enjoy!
The Broke Socialite’s Winter Sangria
2 bottles of white wine (1 bottle of chardonnay, 1 bottle of pinot grigio)
2 of each (granny Smith apples, red delicious apples, peaches, nectarines), cored/pitted and cut into chunks
2 oranges, sliced
2 tablespoons of Grand Marnier
2 cinnamon sticks
3 star anise
In a pitcher, layer all fruit. Add both bottles of wine and Grand Marnier. Drop in the cinnamon and star anise. Cover and refrigerate for 6 to 8 hours. Serve in a white wine glass. Serves 8 to 10.
