What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
The desire to create and encourage others inspired me to become an entrepreneur. There is so much around us in this world, and I learned at an early age that SOMEONE had to create these things. Majority of us are taught to implement someone else’s creation or more commonly referred to as getting a job; however, I decided that wasn’t a good fit for me. I believe all things work together, jobs are important for companies to thrive – so they are equally as important as entrepreneurship. Nonetheless, I was fortunate enough to realize the job route would not provide me the fulfillment ownership would. Serendipitously, this notion became the grounds for my slogan, “Time Should Be Spent Doing What You Love” a metophor of my life and my vision for the lives of others.
How did you come up with a watch company?
I was sitting in my apartment with some friends and we were discussing the future, we sat around and talked about all these things we wanted to have and how we were going to get there. It was in that moment I decided that I would start a company selling what I was most passionate about, timepieces.
How do you feel about your partnership with Macy’s?
I feel honored. I must say that I am impressed with the level of commitment that Macy’s Inc. has to diversity and inclusion. They really lead the charge within the industry in providing the a National platform for diverse groups of people.
What has been your most challenging aspect of being an entrepreneur?
Most challenging aspect of being an entrepreneur is getting the public to see the vision the way I see it. Entrepreneurship can be very lonely at times, but it’s the vision you have for yourself and your company that will keep you chipping away at the task of getting the public to see your vision.
Tell us about the quality of your watches.
The quality of our watches are amazing and superior amongst brands of our price point. Check out some of the reviews online or perhaps take Anchor from Good Morning Washington’s words into consideration: “I’d pay three times the price of this for this watch, wow”
Where would you like to see your brand in the next five years?
In the next 5 years, I see the brand being a household name and having given back more to the world than we have taken.
