What inspired you to work in the entertainment industry?
I was inspired by the entertainment industry as a child when i developed a knack for writing and journaling. I grew up with my biological father, but my mother wasn’t around. I use to wonder why. I felt a piece of me was always missing. I begin to use writing as an outlet to express myself when I felt like no one would listen or care to hear me out. This begin to turn into songwriting as I was inspired by New York’s culture of rap. Growing up I would listen to the likes of The Notorious B.I.G. , Nas, Jay-Z, and many more. I begin listening to instrumentals and writing my own lyrics based on my life’s experiences. I now have aspirations of starting my own podcast based on books I’ve read to change other people’s lives converying my life’s experiences.
What does success look like for you?
Success to me looks like showing up every day as my best self. Some days are better than others but I always make sure I show up for myself. Success is gaining wisdom over time to help with day to day life’s challenges.

What keeps you motivated?
What keeps me motivated is knowing there is a better life out there for me. I’ve made a lot of sacrifices in life and have given up more than I would like to. This keeps me motivated knowing my sacrifice is for something bigger than myself. I want to be able to show my family dreams are attainable for I’ve watched many give up on their dreams to conform to work they don’t care for.

Tell us about your photography business.
Well, I wouldn’t really call it a business at this point more like a skill I’m willing to share for others in need. I never really saw myself as a photographer growing up nor did I have the interest in doing it. I was attempting to help a friend build his career up in music business and we needed photography to help brand him. Well we didn’t have the money to always pay people so I decided to buy a camera and learn the skill for myself. Since then, we have parted ways however I do feel as though God wanted me to learn that skill moving forward in my life. I thankful I did.

How important is mentorship to you?
Mentorship is very important to me, to the point I’m even willing to spend money on it. Mindset is something I value and something that must be invested in everyday. I take my morning routine seriously at the outset of my day. Mentorship can literally take you from getting to your destination for years to a few months the right help. It all depends on who you listen to. Im constantly seeking help from others in positions I would like to be in myself.

Where do you see your career in the next five years?

In the next 5 years I see myself hosting my own podcast, stepping into some roles as an actor, advocating for sickle cell anemia, and serving my community through philanthropic services. This is how I would like my life to go. Hopefully I’ll have met a good woman to begin to build with as well 🙂
