Freedom Summer is building more than a moment. The statewide initiative fuses live music and culture with impactful civic leadership training to build lasting community power.
HOUSTON, TX — [July 2026] — This month, Black Faith Coalition officially announced the launch of Freedom Summer 2.0, a groundbreaking, multi-city movement uniquely designed to spark authentic community connections and cultivate lasting grassroots power across Texas this summer.
This dynamic series meets people exactly where they are, by offering something for everyone through a fusion of culture, music, and collective belonging. At the heart of Freedom Summer 2.0 the message is: “Welcome Home — Come as you are, there’s a place for you here.” The high-energy experience will be making stops in Houston, Austin, and Dallas from July through September 2026. This powerful journey kicks off July 24th at Houston’s popular MOCA Lounge in the legendary Third Ward, with the momentum continuing the next day for Saturday Freedom Training at St. John’s United Methodist Church.
