How did you get started in the entertainment industry?
I got my start in the entertainment industry through modeling and doing commercial work.
Tell us about your training.
My training as an actor is not typical but I have studied with a number of really amazing coaches. The best “training” for me is simply being on set working.
How has your role on “Greenleaf” impacted your career?
The role of Noah has really taught me to really trust myself and my creative imagination. Also it has really reinforced to idea to remain flexible. This project has definitely opened more doors and has also given me more recognition as an actor.
Word on the street is that you have a special love for music. Tell us about it.
Yes I Love Music. Always have and always will. I always have music playing when I am working, and I also write and compose my own original music. I have released two projects online (under the band name Sapphire Sky), and I’m going to be releasing my 3rd project under my name, in a few weeks.
What is an ideal role you desire and why?
My ideal role is any role that is complex and has many layers because that’s how all people/characters really are. There is always something driving a character to do or not do something. It’s fun to take that challenge and bring it to life.
How do you balance your work life and fatherhood?
I have an amazing family and I often take a few moments to realize how amazing my life is becoming. That feeling allows me to see how to keep it balanced.
What advice would you give someone who desires to become an actor?
Decide that you ARE an actor, and that you ARE successful. Never fall into the cycle of “aspiring” and telling the world you are “Trying ” to be an actor. Keep focused and see yourself ALREADY the person you desire to be.
Where would you like to see your career in the next five years?
In the next five years I will have an Oscar for best actor.
