Legacy of Leadership: How CMRignite is Shaping the Future of Multicultural Communications

By Staff

For nearly three decades, Jacque Moore has been a trailblazer in the marketing world, transforming her vision into the nation’s largest Black-owned cause marketing agency, CMRignite. As we celebrate National Black Business Month, CMRignite’s story embodies the values of entrepreneurship, leadership, and diversity within Black-owned businesses and beyond.

Moore’s entrepreneurial journey from small business owner to a respected industry leader is a testament to her resilience and forward-thinking approach. Founded in 1995, CMRignite began as a small agency with a big mission: to develop innovative, cross-cultural marketing campaigns that drive real, positive change. She laid the foundation for an agency that prioritizes diversity—not just in the work it produces but in the very fabric of its operations. This commitment has allowed CMRignite to connect authentically with diverse audiences, leading to groundbreaking campaigns that resonate on a cultural level.

One of Moore’s proudest achievements is her ability to ensure the future of CMRignite by bringing her sons, David and John Bowles, into leadership roles within the company. David, who now serves as President, and John, the Director of Finance, have risen through the ranks, learning every aspect of the business from the ground up.

Over the years, the agency has grown to employ nearly 60 full-time professionals and become a leader in cause marketing. Today, under the leadership of her sons, CMRignite continues to experience exponential growth, along with industry accolades for its innovative, high-profile campaigns for government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and major nonprofits. Its success is reflected in its work with national clients such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Northwestern Mutual, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, across key industries like public health, housing, and finance.

“Passing this torch to my sons has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” says Moore. “They understand the vision and values that CMRignite was built on, and I’m confident in their ability to lead the company into the future.”

As Moore reflects on the journey of CMRignite, she is both proud of the past and excited for the future. Her vision for the company remains as vibrant as ever, with plans to continue expanding its reach and impact.

“My goal has always been to make a difference, and I’m grateful that we’ve been able to do that for nearly 30 years. With David and John at the helm, I’m excited to see where the next chapter of CMRignite will take us,” Moore shares.

CMRignite stands out as a beacon of what can be achieved when passion and purpose intersect.  As National Black Business Month comes to a close, CMRignite’s story is a powerful reminder of the impact that leadership, vision, and commitment to community can have on the world.
