Why did you establish Truth Honey?
I established Truth Honey to create a deeper connection between people and the natural world. It’s rooted in my love for honeybees and their crucial role in our ecosystem. Truth Honey represents authenticity, sustainability, and purpose. It also symbolizes my journey of resilience and creativity, as well as my commitment to educating others about the importance of bees while offering a product that brings both health and joy.
What does success look like for you?
Success, for me, is about more than just profit—it’s about impact. It means creating a sustainable business that uplifts communities, protects the environment, and inspires others to embrace their purpose. Success is seeing Truth Honey flourish while fostering collaboration, education, and empowerment, particularly for women and minorities in underrepresented industries.
What is the network like for an African American woman in the beekeeping space?
The network is both challenging and rewarding. As an African American woman, representation in the beekeeping space is limited, but that’s also what fuels my passion to break barriers. I’ve encountered challenges due to the lack of visibility, but I’ve also found allies and other pioneers who are just as passionate about diversifying this industry. I’m committed to building a stronger network for women and minorities in beekeeping through collaboration, mentorship, and outreach.
How do you maintain viability with your company?
Maintaining viability involves balancing innovation with core values. I focus on producing premium-quality products while investing in sustainable practices and education. Strategic partnerships, strong branding, and engaging storytelling also play a big role in keeping Truth Honey relevant and competitive. Diversifying revenue streams and staying connected to my customers’ needs ensures we adapt and thrive.
Tell us about your products.
Truth Honey is more than just honey; it’s an experience. We produce 100% pure, natural honey sourced with care, offering customers a taste of authenticity. Our line also includes products inspired by honey’s versatility—such as skincare items and gourmet honey blends—all crafted with love and sustainability in mind. Each product tells a story of health, wellness, and the beauty of nature.
What would you like to accomplish over the next five years?
In the next five years, I aim to expand Truth Honey’s reach nationally and internationally. I want to continue creating educational initiatives to teach more people about the importance of bees and sustainability. Additionally, I plan to establish Truth Honey as a recognized lifestyle brand, offering a broader range of products and experiences. My ultimate goal is to leave a lasting legacy, fostering a movement that uplifts communities and protects our planet through the power of honeybees.
About
Meet Dior Davis know as Luxe Queen Honey Bee from College Park, Ga. who created Truth Honey due to the small number of Urban Beekeepers and the lack of honey variety, with the hopes of increasing the knowledge of Agriculture in the Community. After starting Truth Honey, Dior realized there was a need to empower individuals to be healthy, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Dior started the Honey Bee Program. The Honey Bee program entails teaching a certified curriculum in all elementary schools through college. This allows students, teachers, and parents to learn about the benefits of bees and agriculture. Dior main goal for creating the non-profit is to help all schools become STEM/STEAM Certified and to create an agriculture program for students of all ages. Truth Honey has been on the rise making changes in the community because of their hard work and dedication Fulton County has currently awarded Truth Honey with the Blue-Ribbon Award for demonstrating excellency, change and improvement in the community.
