You will definitely identify yourselves in most of those characters. There was laughter throughout the theatre as the story unfolded. One of the most lovable animations, that the whole family will enjoy.

The main characters are the Mallard Family, who live in a New England Pond. The mom, Pam and her kids, teen son Dax and Duckling Gwen, are eager for adventure, to see the world. But, on no, Dad Mack is content to stay there, under the pretense of keeping the family safe, while actually having this extreme phobia of adventuring outside from the fear of the unknown, get killed by predators.

This changes when a migrating duck family stop by their pond and interacts with them, son Dax is armored by a teenage duck, and her family tells stories o f far away places. Once that family leaves, mom Pam, and the kids persuade Mack that they should embark on a family trip, via New York City, to tropical Jamaica.

Of course, the trip starts of quite scary, caught in a storm, they hide under a dock only to be encountered by their greatest fear, captured by an old heron, who actually saves them. She and her husband are quite funny in a scary way. Then they head off to the big city, where grandpa has an encounter with some pigeons and their leader, as this encounter escalates, Pam saves the day with her negotiation skills. Then tell the leader that they are headed to Jamaica, the island, not Queens. He introduces them to the captured homesick Jamaican parrot, who they eventually free from his evil master. He becomes the main protagonists in their journey.

He pursues them to get back his parrot, along with his freed ducks. Outstanding and original dramatic experiences. Where they expand their horizons, they make new friends and accomplish more than they thought possible. Inspiring ending on a journey where they overcome their fears.

Some of the voices in the movie: Awkwafina is the voice of the scrappy leader of a New York City pigeon gang. Carol Kane plays Erin the heron. Keegan-Michael Key plays the homesick Jamaican parrot. Danny DeVito plays Mack’s, adventure—averse Uncle Dan.

Directed by Benjamin Renner, Produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri.
