Hey there,
My life has taken me from the Jim Crow South (I was born in 1955) to New York City, where I lived in Harlem and went to high school.
Along the way, I’ve met people from all walks of life whose stories, struggles, and triumphs have shaped how I see the world.
I earned a degree in Social Psychology from Colgate University and spent many years building a successful corporate career working in operations, sales, and marketing before beginning an encore career in public education, ultimately writing about what matters to me.
Like many women, my path included unexpected turns, challenges, and lessons that helped me grow. Today, I write for women who are navigating life’s ups and downs.
As a mother, grandmother, widow, professional woman, and lifelong learner, I understand that we’re all still learning as we go.
The books I write are inspired by real-life experiences—my own and those shared with me by others.
