GLOBAL CONVERSATIONS WITH THE FLY PROF.-THE PROUD PROFESSOR

BY Prof. Earl N. Caldwell II

GLOBAL CONVERSATIONS WITH THE FLY PROF.

Welcome to Global Conversations With The Fly Prof.  In this edition, you will meet exceptional young professionals who are already making a meaningful impact in the sports and entertainment industry. As I mentioned in my first edition, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago (LUC) School of Law, where I teach Sports & Entertainment Law and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) courses. I also have the privilege of coaching the Sports Law Negotiation Team (SLNT).

The future leaders you are about to meet have each participated in one or more of my courses and/or competed on the SLNT. As you read about their early accomplishments and the momentum they are building in their careers, you will quickly understand why I am—and always will be—their proud professor.

Harry Schauwecker
LUC School of Law Class of 2021
Associate Counsel SoFi Stadium & Hollywood Park

As Associate Counsel, Harry’s duties and responsibilities span several major areas of the organization’s legal and business operations. He serves as a key member of the Development Team, where he supports commercial real estate projects such as Woodland Hills and Midway Rising in San Diego. His work also includes broad transactional support, with responsibilities that touch on architecture, construction, and long-term project planning.

In addition, he contributes to legal and operational matters at SoFi Stadium, helping prepare for several of the world’s largest upcoming sporting events: the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl LXI in 2027, and the 2028 Olympic Games. His role places him at the center of some of the most high-profile sports and entertainment developments in the country.

Reflecting on his journey thus far, Harry shared that he never imagined he would one day be working at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. His path began when he accepted a real estate–focused internship with the Kroenke Group in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri during the Covid 19 pandemic. He passed the California Bar in November 2021, worked for SAG-AFTRA remotely starting in March 2022, and moved to California in September 2022 sight unseen—driven by his belief that Los Angeles is the sports and entertainment capital of the world.

Ultimately, the relationships he built during his time at the Kroenke Group proved instrumental in helping him secure his current role in January 2023—illustrating the power of preparation, belief, and networking.

Reflecting on his journey thus far, Harry shared that he never imagined he would one day be working at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. His path began when he accepted a real estate–focused internship with the Kroenke Group in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He passed the California Bar in November 2021, began working remotely for SAG-AFTRA in March 2022, and ultimately moved to California in September 2022 sight unseen—motivated by his belief that Los Angeles is the sports and entertainment capital of the world.

In the end, the relationships he developed during his time at the Kroenke Group proved instrumental in helping him secure his current role in January 2023—a testament to the power of preparation, confidence, and networking.

For young people interested in careers in sports and entertainment, Attorney Schauwecker emphasized that he did not follow a traditional path. He encourages students to keep an open mind, remain flexible, and be willing to explore opportunities that may not seem obvious at first. He also stresses the importance of developing transferable skills—legal, analytical, interpersonal, and creative—that can be applied effectively within the fast-paced and evolving sports and entertainment environment.

Christian Fuller
LUC School of Law Class of 2022
Contract Specialist
NBC Universal Studios Group

As a Contract Specialist, Christian’s duties and responsibilities include drafting, redlining, and negotiating agreements for both scripted and unscripted television productions, including major titles such as Law & Order, Bel-Air, and Chucky. She also supports post-production operations, working closely with Asset Centers that manage the storage, sale, or consignment of props, costumes, set pieces, and furniture used across various productions.

She shared that she truly enjoys working at NBC because of the company’s strong and supportive culture. She is not micromanaged; instead, she was entrusted early on with three to four shows that were fully hers to run and manage, with guidance readily available whenever she needed it. As Christian gained more experience and confidence in her role, she was increasingly called upon to coach productions, offer feedback, and help guide the teams she worked with—reflecting both her growing expertise and the trust the organization places in her.

Reflecting on her journey and offering words of encouragement for young people, Ms. Fuller spoke about the valuable opportunity she had to learn about the Olympic space by volunteering on the Ethics Committee for USA Skateboarding. That experience allowed her to view sports through an entirely different lens, reinforcing her belief that students should not limit their opportunities to what they already see or know.

She encourages young people to branch out, explore new pathways, and think creatively about how they enter the sports and entertainment industries. From an entertainment perspective, she notes that meaningful experience can often be found by working with smaller studios or production companies, which frequently collaborate with major studios. These roles can provide hands-on, practical exposure that is just as valuable—and sometimes even more influential—than starting in a large organization.

Griffin Lowy
LUC School of Law Class of 2024
Partner & Director of Operations at Alta Sports Management
NIL Agency

As a Partner & Director of Operations at Alta Sports Management, an NIL agency he co-runs with his high school friend, Attorney Matthew Hand, Griffin serves as a full-time NIL agent. His responsibilities include athlete recruitment, pursuing partnership and brand deals for student-athlete clients, and reviewing company financial statements to evaluate and determine potential brand partners.

Griffin’s love for sports and his desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives through sports are what drew him to Alta Sports Management, where he is able to pursue his passion while contributing in a meaningful way. He chose to take the risk of starting his own business early in his career so that, if it does not ultimately work out, he can still pursue other paths such as practicing law or exploring his interests in real estate or international business.

Mr. Lowy enjoys the constant day-to-day learning that comes through reading, listening to podcasts, and conducting research on the evolving sports and NIL landscape. His goal is to grow a little more knowledgeable each day. He is focused on becoming more established in the industry and on helping Alta continue to grow—either into a widely recognized agency or, as is often the case, into a firm positioned for acquisition by a larger agency.

To the youth he simply states: “Pursue your passion.”

Noor Davis
LUC School of Law Class of 2025
Strategic Executive Partner – Office of the President & CEO
Chicago Bears Football Club

As Strategic Executive Partner – Office of the President & CEO, Noor functions in a role comparable to a Chief of Staff. He is responsible for driving strategic priorities and ensuring organizational alignment from the President & CEO through executive leadership and across the broader staff. He also manages upward communication, consolidating insights and updates from executive leaders for the President & CEO. His portfolio spans the full spectrum of football business operations, stadium development initiatives, and key administrative functions essential to the organization’s performance and long-term planning.

Noor has had a passion for sports since childhood, particularly the business side of sports, with a long-term aspiration to influence culture and ultimately serve as the President & CEO of a football club. That passion shaped his athletic and professional journey—from playing college football at Stanford University to competing professionally with the Minnesota Vikings, and then transitioning into an executive-level role with the Detroit Lions. He later expanded his experience at the Big Ten Conference while simultaneously attending law school, before joining the Chicago Bears.

Mr. Davis emphasizes that sports are, at their core, part of the entertainment industry—an experience designed to create lasting memories. Sports influence fans, spectators, and the athletes themselves, and he believes the true purpose of the industry is to serve all of these constituencies. For him, that spirit of service is essential. He loves sports because they bring together people from all walks of life, uniting them in pursuit of a common goal.

He explains that no two days are ever the same, and he truly enjoys the challenges, growth, and development that his current role—and the sports industry as a whole—continuously provide. To the youth, Noor emphasizes the importance of dreaming big and then relentlessly pursuing those dreams. He lives by that philosophy himself and captures it in his personal motto: “Dream big and follow through even bigger.”

If you have comments, suggestions, or ideas for future topics or individuals to feature in the upcoming editions of Global Conversations, I’d love to hear from you.
