Body Battle Fitness With Founder Lee Jimenez

By Taroue Brooks

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

After a lengthy career in Brand Marketing for Beauty brands Estee Lauder, MAC Cosmetics and LVMH I wanted to make an impact that went further than just skin deep. I wanted to provide a service that makes you take a look at your life choices, triggers for bad behavior and provide the tools to empower people towards total body wellness. I was 255 lbs, depressed and mentally incapable of fixing my real life triggers that had kept me physically stuck for over two decades. In 2014 I made the choice enough was enough, I quit my position, released relationships that were not serving the trajectory I wanted for myself and invested into my own total wellness. In 2015 and 100 lbs less I created Body Battle Fitness, a product for people like myself who have been battling their own body battles.

What advice would you give someone who seeks to become an entrepreneur?

Listen to your own voice, that same voice that said it’s time for you to create your own path. There is a reason it’s called entrepreneurship, you are stepping out of the social construct of “work” or “career path” There is simply no road map or advice that someone else can give you for your vision. Embrace the nuances and embrace the successes both with the same level of emotional acceptance.

Where would you like to see your business in the next 5 years?

We have trademarked signature workouts and programs that have served thousands of people digitally. We have partnerships with global brands in apparel, gym equipment and vegan consumer goods. Simply put I could not have foreseen the success of the last 5 years and I can only imagine that staying the path created will garner more endorsements, larger platforms and post covid era an opportunity for us to once again connect in person in a Body Battle Fitness studio space or two.
