What inspired you to become an author?

I was inspired to become an author, due to my transition to Atlanta, Georgia.  I like to say, I came to Atlanta on divine assignment. I had No job and no idea what I wanted to do. So for the second time in my life I was forced to find my WHY. So through a process of asking my self a series of questions. I started to blog, and through blogging I created chapters that I formed into a book.

Tell us about your book.

My book is about a process or a journey that one goes through to find their Why and or purpose for being. My book answers a serious of questions that gives a road map on how to properly navigate through life’s everyday trials and tribulations.

Why do you feel that so many young people look up to you?

I feel that young people look up to me because of my relatability. Coupled with my transparency. I give young people the freedom to be unapologetically themselves. Free to make mistakes without judgment.

What does success look like for you?

Success looks different to everybody. For me, success is when you find your purpose, your why for living. Not only finding it, but moving in its design.

Tell us about how you garnered so many relationships as a mentor.

Living my life out loud. Allowing people to see my authentic self.  Traveling the road least traveled, has made my life much more difficult; but the reward has been much greater. Living in my truth has allowed me to garner many relationships as a  mentor.  People respect leaders that our courageous enough to follow their own thumb print or pathway. When you have the ability to encourage others to operated in their God given talents. People tend to ask for your guidance.

What has been the most difficult thing you had to overcome and how did you do it?

My most difficult challenge was moving to Atlanta, at 40 years old.  Starting over in a new city.  Leaving a home, cars, trucks and a successful career. I felt like Moses when he fled from Egypt.  He was already established, living a royal life.

Like Mose, God spoke to me. Through this encounter, i was given the motivation and strength needed for this transition. To know, God was with me and had ordained this move. It gave me the courage to move out into the unknown. With no job and no connections. I took a leap of faith. Trusting that the scariest thing I’ve ever done; would created the best life I could ever dream of.
