What does it feel like being part of the 2023 graduating class at Stillman College?

First off. To be a first generation graduate in my family is definitely a blessing in itself. It feels amazing to be a part of the 2023 graduating class at Stillman College. My mother raised us to become whatever we please in this thing we call life. She created that safe space for us to live in and she made sacrifices by not being able to live her dreams. I want to make my family proud and show them how the young man they raise can get things done instead of having a bag filled with excuses. Everything I do comes from the heart and by graduating, it definitely feels surreal.

Why was your education so important to you?

Education is very vital to me because it creates opportunities that surpass my expectations. Growing up, I learned that it’s okay to unlearn some things to learn again. I had to close a lot of chapters in order to open some new chapters. I love to compare myself to a sponge. I love soaking up new things and making sure that I’m learning as I go. You never stop learning.

What has your experience been like as an Influencer?

My experience as an influencer has been nothing but phenomenal. I get to wake up everyday and have an impact on someone’s life. To spread positivity and happiness, it puts a smile on my face and gives me the ability to create connections with strangers. I’ve experienced a-lot being an influencer but one of the key reasons I am who I am today is because of God. His influence allows me to live my purpose and be influential to the mass of people.

What inspires you to become an actor in such a competitive industry?

My inspiration to become an actor in a competitive industry is the fact that I am willing to prove myself and my skills. Being in character gives me a chance to escape the real world and I get to be in someone else’s shoes. A lot of people want to be an actor because of being in front of the cameras. I feel that I’m going after something that’s righteously mine. I want to be an actor because it makes me happy when I have an impact on people. Happy in a sense of gratification and it puts me in another world. I’m willing to work hard for it and I’m hungrier than ever before.

Tell us about your last acting gig and your role.

My last acting gig was me being a police officer in a play called my Black is Blue. This specific role gave me the opportunity to play a young guy who was a police officer during the George Floyd year. Being in this role, it taught me that everyone is not willing to understand what you go through on a day to day basis being black and people could care less about your history. It was my job to reinvent history and change the culture in a good way. I had a wife who was an activist and was all for the Black Lives Matter movement. It later killed her and I had the chance of actually crying on stage and switching moods. I had to hold my composure as a black man due to the fact that blacks systematically have it more difficult than others. The part I played really impacted the black community in a positive way.

What is the ideal role for you and why?

The ideal role for me will be a college student, an athlete or even a husband in a show. I chose those characters because the looks I have are more gravitating towards that typical character. With the brains I have, I can also play a lawyer, doctor, or even a teacher. I know that with my versatility, I can take on any role, study it, and soak it all in to make it happen overall. I’m destined for this and I will… show it.
